UPDATED: Tracking media Tumblrs? Look no further

Update:  Coatney weighed in on the Mashable! listing described below, noting: "This is a great list; I’d just like to add that while these twelve are all nicely-executed Tumblrs, it’s the ‘others’ listed at the bottom that I’m most excited about, because it shows off the real depth and breadth of well-done Tumblrs by traditional media outlets. Thanks to you all; I’ve been so impressed with what’s been done so far." I agree--that's why the full list is below.

Panelist Mark Coatney created Newsweek's Tumblr, then left to join Tumblr as its media evangelist, rounding up other news organizations as users of the easy blogging service. If you want to track his progress, follow these breadcrumbs left on the trail by Mashable, the firehose of social media news, which served up this list of 12 essential news media Tumblrs to follow.  Included in its sights are the Tumblrs for Newsweek, the Newseum's daily serving of newspaper front pages, the Atlantic, the Los Angeles Times, the Today Show, the Atlantic, the Huffington Post, LIFE, NPR's Fresh Air, the Economist and Utne Reader, with bonus number 13 as Mashable's own Tumblr.

The post includes a slide show of the baker's dozen, plus this list of additional media Tumblrs, covering everything from Sesame Street to the Paris Review. Clearly, Coatney will have plenty to talk about at our panel...remember, you can leave questions for our panelists in the comments on any post on this blog.
